Ensemble Panoramic project + ROSE(s)

Pour son nouvel album et son nouveau programme live, le Panoramic Project, ensemble de jazz moderne dirigé par le trompettiste et compositeur Léo Jeannet, nous propose une surprenante exploration de la nouvelle vague des pianistes de jazz français qui montent ces dernières années.

Ce projet, intitulé Piano Extended, réunit sept pianistes invités dans l’onztet du Panoramic Project, en tant que solistes mais également en tant que compositeurs et compositrices : Clélya Abraham, Estreilla Besson, Enzo Carniel, Delphine Deau, Étienne Manchon, Sandrine Marchetti, Alexis Nercessian.

S’emparant de compositions choisies avec soin dans le répertoire des invités, Guillaume Guedin, principalement, et Léo Jeannet en signent les arrangements, en jouant de l’orchestre comme d’un prolongement du piano et des univers singuliers des différents invités. C’est un piano volubile, expressif, chantant, comme étendu aux cuivres et aux bois de l’ensemble Panoramic Project, qui s’échappe des dix doigts de chaque invité. Un programme qui étonne par la rondeur du son, la finesse d’exécution et d’arrangements, et par la beauté des compositions des invités, qui se lancent dans de grandioses improvisations au piano. Un opus qui séduira inévitablement les amateurs de touches noires et blanches et de big band jazz.

With its new album and live program, “Panoramic Project”, the modern jazz ensemble led by trumpeter and composer Léo Jeannet offers an astonishing exploration of the new wave of French jazz pianists emerging in recent years.

This project, entitled “Piano Extended”, brings together seven pianists invited into the Panoramic Project onztet, as soloists as well as composers.

Drawing on compositions carefully selected from the guests’ repertoire, the arrangements—primarily by Guillaume Guedin, together with Léo Jeannet—use the orchestra as an extension of the piano and of each guest’s distinctive world. A voluble, expressive, singing piano—extended to the brass and woodwinds of the Panoramic Project ensemble—seems to flow from the ten fingers of each guest. A program that surprises with the roundness of its sound, the finesse of its execution and arrangements, and the beauty of the compositions, as the guests launch into grandiose piano improvisations. An opus that will inevitably delight lovers of black and white keys and big band jazz.
